Auxiliary Post 2113 History  

The Auxiliary of the De Pere VFW Post 2113 was founded on April 10, 1946 when 21 spouses of the WWI veterans got together and collectively decided to provide everlasting support to all veterans, their families and the community we live in.

Auxiliary Post 2113

Setting the standard for the everlasting support was the Auxiliaries 1st President – Stella Rabideau. Since that time the Auxiliary of VFW Post 2113 has supported the members of VFW Post 2113 in everyway possible. Helping with Brat Fry fundraising, marching in parades across the state, assisting when needed as Honor Guard members for football games and military funeral honors for deceased veterans.

In addition, they support the families and soldiers of the Post’s adopted U.S. Army Reserve unit – the 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion while the unit is deployed overseas. The Auxiliary has represented all NE Wisconsin VFW’s by sitting on the local Green Bay CP Telethon call-in desks. In addition, we have provided donations to many varied military and family programs including the VFW National Home.

Linda Moran

Current Auxiliary President

Linda is the current Auxiliary President. Through her dedication to supporting veterans and their family members she was recognized for those efforts by being elected to lead the entire State of Wisconsin Auxiliaries (8,110 thousand members) for the period July 1, 2009 until June 30, 2010. Linda continues leading the fight to support veterans and their families to this day. Her husband Pat is a Vietnam War survivor - veteran.

Marge Van Vonderen

Marge holds the record of being the longest serving member (54 years) of the Auxiliary – always willing to help and lend a hand when ever and where ever that may be. Marge was the Auxiliary Secretary for 20 of those years and led (as chairperson) many of our working committees – taking absolute pride in leading the Hospital Committee (that was her baby, working as a volunteer for many, many years).

Sharon Manders

Sharon is trying hard to catch up with Marge in total years of service to our Auxiliary. With 54 years in the Auxiliary, she is only a few months short of Marge in total time served. Sharon was first member of our Auxiliary to hold a higher VFW Auxiliary leadership position in Wisconsin – that being as the President of the 8th VFW Auxiliary District – overseeing all Auxiliaries in NE Wisconsin. She received many Post, District and Department of Wisconsin Auxiliary awards for leadership and volunteerism – Sharon has proven to be a great leader. Her husband John is a Vietnam War survivor – veteran.
